CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It's been just over eight years since then-20-year-old Shane Rashad Byrd left his Clarksville apartment, never to return home.

Byrd's brother told police he was last seen leaving his apartment on Walnut Street on Dec. 20, 2015, but when Byrd's family still hadn't heard from him for nearly two months afterward, they reported him missing.

The missing person's report was officially filed exactly eight years ago on Feb. 23, 2016, according to the Clarksville Police Department (CPD). However, to this day, neither Byrd's family nor police have been able to locate him.

Little is known about what happened to Byrd after he left his apartment that day. According to detectives, Byrd's brother was unsure whether he had left on foot or if someone picked him up.

What his family said was unusual was that Byrd had left all of his personal belongings at his apartment, including his last paycheck and cell phone. Few other details are available in the case, which according to the CPD, is considered a cold case.

When he was last seen, Byrd was wearing a gray hoodie, black pants and white Nike shoes. He has black hair, brown eyes, weighs about 210 pounds, and is about 6 feet tall. Byrd would now be 28 years old.
