1 flown to hospital after being removed from Clarksville crash

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A least one person was injured in a crash that completely shut down an intersection in Clarksville, officials said.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the crash occurred just before 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Madison Street and Richview Road on Wednesday, March 13.

Authorities reported one person had to be removed from a vehicle and was flown to a Nashville hospital to be treated for their injuries. The extent of their injuries remain unknown.

Madison Street will stay closed until crews are able to clear the scene, police said. It's unclear when the roadway will completely reopen.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted into Alfred Drive. Meanwhile, westbound traffic is being diverted on Richview Road.

No other information about the crash was immediately released.
