Clarksville authorities respond to 2 motorcycle crashes, 1 fatal

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Clarksville police responded to two motorcycle crashes on Monday night — and one was deadly.

Authorities said they responded to a crash just after 8 p.m. on Monday night at the intersection of Ft. Campbell Boulevard and Cunningham Lane. The motorcyclist was reportedly transported to Tennova Healthcare by Montgomery County EMS. Their status is unknown at this time.

"The southbound lanes of Ft. Campbell Blvd. are currently shut down and motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be opened back up," a press release from the Clarksville Police Department reads, in part. "There is no other information available for release at this time."

Clarksville authorities added that Ft. Campbell Blvd. opened back up at approximately 9:45 p.m.

The Clarksville Police Department later added that they were also working a motorcycle crash at Kraft Street and North 2nd Street. That crash, which police said happened at approximately 8:22 p.m., was fatal; the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after hitting the Midtown Inn sign.

"The southbound lanes of Kraft Street are currently shut down and FACT Investigators are en route to process the scene," a press release from the Clarksville Police Department reads, in part. "Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared. There is no other information available for release at this time."

The roadway reopened around 11 p.m. Monday.
