CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person was airlifted to a Nashville hospital after being injured in a crash Saturday night, according to Clarksville authorities.
In a press release, the Clarksville Police Department said the crash occurred on Jan. 4 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 near mile marker 10.
According to an investigation from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old man was the sole occupant of a Nissan Titan driving westbound on I-24 when his vehicle veered off the roadway to the left. The truck entered the median and hit several trees, reports said. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The interstate was closed as first responders worked to evacuate the injured man by helicopter before he was transported to a Nashville hospital.
The road was reopened just before 11:30 p.m.
No additional information on the driver's condition was immediately released.
