CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Financial aid is on the way for families who were forced out of their homes when flood waters rushed in earlier this month.

Montgomery County has approved $500,000 in emergency funding to help cover repair costs for homes damaged during the flooding the first week of April.

The funding is specifically earmarked to cover demolition and removal of damaged materials, as well as treatment to prevent mold damage.

The county is reportedly working with a local nonprofit, YAIPAK, to distribute the money.

Montgomery County officials told News 2 last week the county inadvertently pumped thousands of gallons of water into the neighborhood while trying to drain flood waters.
