CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Officers closed down one Clarksville roadway as they attempted to negotiate with someone barricaded inside a residence. However, hours later, authorities announced they were still searching for a suspect with multiple active warrants.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, the Clarksville Police Department said that officers established a secure perimeter around the home at 1300 Sharptail Trail. As a safety precaution, Clarksville police shut down McClardy Road at Preachers Mill Road. Residents within the area could leave, but weren't allowed to return until the area had been deemed safe.

Hours later, Clarksville police said the perimeter had been lifted and residents were allowed to return to the area. Officers reportedly made contact with the person inside the residence, but "determined that he was not the person officers were attempting to locate."

Matthew Epps IV, 29, is still at large and has active warrants for false imprisonment and domestic assault, according to Clarksville police. Anyone with information about his whereabouts has been asked to call 911.
