CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman was injured in a hit-and-run crash while walking in Clarksville early Friday morning.
The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. on Ringgold Road near the post office.
Clarksville police reported a passing motorists stopped and found the woman in the middle of the roadway. Investigators determined the woman was hit by a vehicle that then left the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to Tennova hospital with unknown injuries. As of publication, Clarksville police have said that the victim is stable and that their injuries are not life-threatening.
The eastbound lane of Ringgold Road was closed and traffic had been diverted into the Post Office parking lot.
A Friday press release from Clarksville police said that investigators with the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) found surveillance footage of the SUV that hit the pedestrian. Images showed a dark-colored SUV and a passenger-side fog light that does not work.
