Man found dead near Clarksville construction site, police say

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have launched an investigation after a man was found dead Tuesday near a construction site in Clarksville.

The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) said officers were sent to the 100 block of Chesapeake Lane just after 3 p.m. to respond to an "ambulance call."

When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly found an unresponsive man lying in the grass near a new construction site.

The man—who has not been identified— was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A press release later that same day said that a preliminary investigation into surveillance video evidence indicated that the man suffered a medical emergency before collapsing.

According to CPD, detectives from the Special Operations Unit and the Crime Scene Unit are investigating the incident. There is no ongoing threat to the immediate public.
